We had a lovely time at the Royal Plantation hotel, staying there for 10 days over Christmas. The staff was lovely, our butlers (Anthony and Robert) were great and overall everyone was welcoming. The food is good, as long as you stick to local cuisine. The drinks selection is also good as well as the activities. Marine life for snorkeling is a bit scarce as one probably needs to go to the Devil's Reef for diving so manage your expectations. Lastly, the hotel is a bit dated but for us it didn't matter much as we rarely spent time in our room and just stayed on the beach all day.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Royal Plantation celebrating the beginning of our honeymoon. You can tell that this resort is older and in need of some renovations- however we loved the charm and felt right at home in our room. We spent a ton of time relaxing on our patio loungers as well as on the beach. There was always plenty of chairs on the beach and it was so quiet and peaceful. One thing that needs to be improved upon is food- we are foodies and weren’t super impressed and enjoyed the food at Sandals Dunns River more. So if you’re idea of vacation is quiet, relaxation, and not much going on (like us), this will be perfect for you! All in all, we loved our stay here and understand why people come back year after year.
