Good central location for our 2 days in Adelaide, a short walk to restaurants and shops. Hotel was smart and clean as was our room. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, Breakfast was cooked to order and was nice, if you wanted a decent coffee it was at additional cost. Let down by a dripping shower that kept us awake at times.

This was a disappointing experience because we’d been given the impression that, at apparently 4.5 stars, this was a special place, especially with the draw of the roof garden. But there was nothing much up there: no bar or restaurant or other feature. ||On arrival at the hotel, the reception was ‘ok’ but certainly not interested in us. We had lots of luggage but there was no one available to help with this (perhaps we’d been spoilt at the Intercontinental in Perth where we’d flown in from). ||The hotel restaurant was temporarily closed (and there’s no bar) so we asked the receptionist where was the best place to head to for dinner. She sent us down Rundle Street. At best you’d described myself and my brother as middle aged. Rundle Street on a Saturday night is club town. Vibrant and busy but no way were we going to get a table anywhere! If the receptionist had just asked a few questions about what sort of food/restaurant we liked, we could have walked to a different area where we found, the next day, some much more suitable places. || |The rooms were large with a balcony but overlooking a car park. My room was too warm given the temperature outside and the power to generate the AC only operated with one of your key cards but never really cooled down. The toilet wouldn’t stop flushing (reported) but I worked out how to avoid this by pressing the right rather than left button. The sink wouldn’t drain unless you manually removed the ordinarily pop up plug.|||There are no electric points near the bed at all and no usb sockets so my phone was plugged in across the room which was annoying when my alarm went off!||Breakfast was by ‘voucher’ with limited choices. Again, we’d obviously been spoilt at our previous hotel. ||And the final straw - and by no means were we late for breakfast on our second morning - there was no fruit juice left for breakfast other than an inch of apple juice at the bottom of a container. When I asked if there was any orange juice I was told no, they were waiting for more to be delivered, I said that we’d not had very good experiences at all at this hotel and whilst it wasn’t the server’s fault, we weren’t happy. Strangely, the orange juice was then topped up.||All in all a lacklustre experience. Would certainly not return. The hotel is certainly due a refurbish in terms of plumbing, electrics and AC. And more experienced staff. The last receptionist we saw as we left WAS friendly and accommodating but the rest looked like we’d been disturbing them. Other hotels went out of their way to make us feel welcome and looked after.
