Adelaide St was an OK+ stay at a v busy time but likely won’t repeat. Staff are a stand-out being professional, friendly, prompt and helpful. Good amenities and great location. But in 2nd room (had to change) I got had Months of dust, debris and dirt under bed which weird when asked in advance for allergy-free room as I’m asthmatic. The first room I got w tiled floor as I’d asked for allergy-free wasn’t the 1BR size or style I’d paid for, also being smaller studio size w tiled floor but no aircon or window in inner bedroom (bad for asthmatic). Room I then got had great orientation, space, elevation but aircon filthy (see photos). This was quickly sorted by maintenance w wipe down filter but usual aircon servicing clearly lacking. Obviously asking for allergy room when asthmatic to dust isn’t considered important. After Covid this international traveller found that a real surprise and also common in Aussie hotter climate places. But what is it about Aussie apartments not vacuuming under beds for months on end- see attached. It took a while to get that sorted but these are specifics I mention as asthmatic and it might not matter to others. See photos. All in all I enjoyed my stay at this Meriton and recommend it- but if you’ve allergies or asthma then be careful and be prepared to check, get things cleaned.
April 2023: We've decided to stay here because it was quite a central location between the university and other places. The suite was fresh and clean on arrival. The staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. They also provided extra amenities when we asked. It's a perfect room to stay if you want to relax with a view and cook some nights, especially because it's fitted with a kitchenette. I would definitely stay here when I visit next time. August 2023: My family and I stayed in the Altitude suites for a couple of days. It was ok but not as good as it was when we stayed back in April in a Standard room. The suite needed a better clean, it needed a good vacuum and dusting. My parents quilts/sheets needed to be changed the first night (which they did immediately) after they found black marks and blood stains on the them. The shower needs a bit of an update, the shower head was the main issue, it was a smelly and had some mould on it. I would have expected this stay/room to be great as back in April the room was clean and fresh. It was disappointing to see these issues, especially because it was the first time my parents came with us. Hopefully they can fix these issues and work on maintenance/cleaning. The good thing this time about the room we stayed in was the view.
