YHA Sydney Central was my first hostel experience and it was the best I've had. I loved the view I got during my stay here (Central Station's tower clock). The hostel is conveniently located in the central with Haymarket Station just right across the hostel's entrance door and Central Station being 5 minutes walk (if not lesser). Check in and check out were hassle free. Volunteers and housekeepers manage the hostel's cleanliness well (bathroom, kitchen). Although I encountered an issue on my second stay here, I was assisted with great care by front desk staff (a lady and a guy) during wee hours. Didn't catch their names, but I appreciate it so much! I'd recommend this hostel than the others in the area simply for the safety and overall cleanliness.

Had a private en suite which was good, stayed for 9 days, no cleaning though but I assume this is normal for hostels. Glad I didn't stay here on my own as a female as I had a bit of a scary experience with 2 older males whilst I was on my own. I reported the incident to reception, the lady was very understanding and comforting however the male brought up the men who'd made me uncomfortables' nationality and which made me a bit uneasy as it wasn't relevant to the situation whatsoever and I felt like he was insinuating something that was VERY offensive.. ||Other than that, it's a decent hostel, but sometimes the people staying there can dampen the experience but that's a risk wherever you stay.||Location was ideal for public transport and a short walk away from the centre.
