We had a very comfortable stay in the charming Hotel Colonial. Loved the historic main building and the room was clean and comfortable The owner and staff very warm and welcoming. My little one lovec the sweet labrador and the little puppy!

Hotel was fine but felt old and ‘daggy’. ||Cons: one side of the bed was less than a foot from the wall so you had to use the end of the bed to get in and out. One of our sheets should have been ‘retired’ as it was no longer a nice white (it was decidedly yellow) and soft with wear. Room decor is old and outdated (despite its ‘colonial’ style it wasn’t nice). Old framed posters, timber pelmet hiding fluro lights above the bed head, and chairs at a dining table with cracked and brittle leather. |The external area of the hotel is all asphalt car parking area with no green space (except for the front garden as photographed on the website). ||Pros: big size room, comfortable king bed, bathroom felt clean and shower had a lovely big rain shower head. Good location with nice breakfast cafes close by. ||We wouldn’t use this property again. Particularly as the price is comparable to other newer hotels in the city.
