InterContinental Guangzhou Exhibition Center, an IHG Hotel

It was a romantic weekend getaway with my wife, a splendid one I must say. First impression, the doorman was polite and friendly. Coming into check-in counter, the front desk staffs were friendly, efficient and helpful with full recognition on the IHG elite membership. Overall, the hotel is well-maintained and clean. The suite room is well-appointed with a super comfortable bed and a nice view of Zhujiang River. The Club Lounge has an excellent view with friendly and hospitable staff (great job Claire and team). For F&B, simple breakfast in the Club Lounge is nice for a quiet breakfast but for greater selections, breakfast at the all-day dining restaurant - Cafe Aqua is the place to be. Overall, food and drinks are pretty good for breakfast as well as the lunch buffet. For a more luxurious meal, Char was an excellent place to have high quality meat (steaks) with a well-curated wine list...really great food and drinks with superb service thanks to ZY and team for making our meal such a memorable one! And we will be back for sure. Nothing bad about the hotel to really pick on but was able to pick out the fact that there are quite a number of trainees and new staffs in the hotel (possibly some temporary staffs in Cafe Aqua as well), even though it's understandable but this still somewhat a little bit affected the overall staff service in the hotel. But nonetheless, it was a wonderful stay and we will surely not mind taking another staycation in this property in the near future.
