I stayed for two separate nights while transiting through Bogota in January 2024. Hotel is certainly conveniently located to El Dorado wth shuttle busses running to and from the airport every 30 minutes. Website explains pick up is at Puerta 5, but no mention is made that shuttle leaves from the second floor departure, not the arrivals on the ground floor. We called the hotel repeatedly, and it took two missed buses to figure out the problem. Rooms are comfortably furnished, although thermostat allowed only for cool and off, so there was no way to heat up the room which was about 15C with the air conditioning turned off. Biggest disappointment was the restaurant. My friend and I thought we'd have something truly special on our last night. Tomato soup starter was ok, but nothing special. Then came the Posta Cartagenera, something we were told was a house speciality. It came with 3 medallions of beef, plain brown rice, and 4 pieces of plantain. Beef was so salty it was not edible, rice was bland and plantain was good. I ate one bite of the meat, all of the rice and plantain, and told the waiter the meat was far too salty (in Spanish). He said "perfecto" and took away the plate without offering any alternative. No correction was made to the bill, even through the manager, nor was any credit offered. About 1/2 an hour later after I'd gone bed, I received a call confirming there would be no compensation because I ate the rice and plantain. They also offered to bring me some cheese to my room which I declined. Of note, this was by far the worst meal I have ever had in all my travels in Colombia, as well as one of the most expensive. In fact, I have not turned away a meal in years. Of course, these things do happen, but I would have expected Movich to have much better customer service than was provided. I will not stay there again.
Nice amply hotel. For business travel was good. The location close to the airport was great (despite being so close to the airport it was very quiet due to the outdoor noise. You get pick and drop off. You just need to ask beforehand how to get picked up from the airport. The food was good and if they have a steam room definitely will tick all my boxes. |PS Don't leave personal effects behind as it is an odyssey to track them down (even as returning guess, and even I have advised Ieft them on the same day that I realised that I left things behind and asked them to keep them for me, I still could not get them back). Maybe that experience was only for me. But still a bit uncomfortable with the issue.
