Positive: The location was great, close to so many restaurants and cafes. The area felt safe. And it was easy to get to and from the airport using the private transport service. Breakfast was super generous. Great value for the price. Negative: I don't think it's 4 stars by international standards; there were some amenities we'd have expected but didn't have.

For this hotel to be considered a 5 start hotel is way to far away to full fill the requirements of one. All basic amenities were missing from the room (iron machine and board / coffee maker/ hair drier / Kleenex) etc. Also the prices are high, but the employees treat you as if you, the customer, are just lucky to be there … they care zero about your needs. I asked 4 days for a hair drier and it was never provided, the reception guy told me once that usually people staying on the suites just used the salon services !! Basically he told me “you should have enough to pay extra” which I had to, cause there was no other option.…. I truly feel that the customer service in Medellin is getting worse (specifically at this hotel). The waitress at the restaurants looked angry… the only person who was super nice and sweet and did a good job for us, was our cleaning girl Jennifer. I stayed at he Carlton several times, but I think this was my last.
