This lodge was a wonderful introduction to Costa Rica. We traveled as a family with adult children. The lodge had wonderful friendly staff member and the feeling of the lodge was one of peaceful outdoor serenity without being fancy or stifled. We all had options from relaxing by the pool to the choice of multiple hiking and walking trails. Transport to and from other areas was easily arranged and pretty affordable. I’m sure we could have saved some money booking some excursions on our own but the ease of walking to the desk and having everything arranged once we arrived was super stress-relieving. We took advantage of most every onsite experience available plus we went on our own for shopping and lunch in La Fortuna. We also booked off site excursions to Caño Negra River Cruise and Arenal Volcano hike plus hot springs and lunch afterwards. Super amazing. The bird and other wildlife watching was abundant right on the property. Especially recommend the morning bird walk and the night hike with guide Fabio Araya! The food was healthy farm to table fare and we never felt quite so great physically as we did after eating at the lovely open air dining area as compared to overindulging on not so great foods during other trips. We’ll definitely be back.
