What a great holiday! |The hotel was wonderful. On arrival we were greeted with wine and soft drinks. |The room were fine, the bathroom was a bit dated, however it was spotlessly clean.|The food was very good, I really don’t understand some of the negative reviews. My family and I are well travelled and stayed in 5 star hotels and the food hasn’t been as good as the food here. Some evenings in the main buffet restaurant was very busy, but we never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for a table. The fast food place which is open at lunch time was great if you wanted to grab a quick snack. There was everything from freshly made Giros, pizza, burgers and salad boxes. We also ate in the Italian and Asian restaurant, the food in the Asian restaurant was outstanding. |The staff are a credit to the hotel. Everyone who we interacted with was polite and knowledgeable.|A big shout out to Christalla who works in the lobby bar and Christina, (guest relations), what lovely ladies they are. Nothing was too much trouble for these ladies, professional and full of fun.|We will definitely return.|Thank you for a great family holiday.
Stayed here with family in October half term, we had 3 rooms, two with sea views and one with a front facing road view, I stayed in the latter. The communal areas of the hotel are clean and well presented, the pool area is great and their was no shortage of sunbeds. My room was ok, nothing special at all, the beds were comfortable but it all felt dated and a bit grubby, my room constantly had a stale smell and the tile grouting in the shower was covered in mould. Compared to Alexander the Great which is also a 4 star hotel nearer the harbour this was never 4 star, more 3 in my opinion. The staff were friendly and worked hard, and the spa was great, my deep tissue massage was excellent. The main area that let this down for us was the food and drinks, whilst the food was plentiful and presented very nicely, the quality of both the food and drinks was poor. Dinner was particularly disappointing and consisted of the same meat on the bone every night with a different sauce. Breakfast was probably the best meal of the day, and the snack bar was adequate. What really annoyed us was the three 'A la Carte' restaurants were either closed or fully booked despite trying to arrange on the first day of our visit, this seems unfair as it is included in the offering when booking. We had to eat out three times during the evening, as we just found the dinner so repetitive and it was like hunt for the meat on the bone. The AI drinks were poor quality, the brandy was like drinking paint stripper, and the beer was ok at best. It just felt as though everything was done to maximise profits, and on the cheap. The evening entertainment was dreadful, in contrast, the sister hotel next door, we could hear great duos and singers so I went to take a look, and the place was buzzing, people were having to play cards in our hotel to have something to do. Overall we had a lovely holiday as it is what you make it, but I wouldn't rush to stay here again, unless the AI quality was improved and the rooms had some attention to make it in keeping with a 4 star expectation.|
