If you want endless open yet calm water and a beautifully designed and located spot, you won't find. a better place in the Dominican Republic. Set within a landscape that is so lush it almost looks like a well maintained forest, the hotel itself is studded with palm trees that makes it tranquility itself. |I'm a swimmer and can't get enough. The hotel has a pool. Now that might seem lie a "duh" yet in DR, lots of hotels have pools that serve more as decoration than you can imagine swimming in. They are surely places for kids to play but not actually get a good swim in. The Westin is not like that. Sure the pool is a central spot for relaxing, sunbathing, having a good cold drink. More than that though is that the pool sits at the center of the courtyard created by the way the hotel is laid out. It is a charm, gentle, inviting and you can actually swim. And, there is the expectable bar service so you're not far from something to relax with.|The rooms are comfortable, the bedding luxurious - comfy such that I, for one, as much as I wanted to see things in DR, could certainly have spent more time lolling around in bed and loving it.|The staff could not be better. They seem genuinely happy to get to now the guests and offer whatever help or guidance you might need. For a variety of reasons I needed more help than might otherwise have been the case. Each and everyone of the staff members helped in the most extraordinary ways. If you go, you have to give my regards to Omar and Angelo, Harold and Hector, and Jezebel, :Luis and my own special sugar daddy. Each of them in one way or another made my stay an absolute delight with my feeling well taken care of.|Of particular note for me is that they had marvelous suggestions for restaurants. One, was especially super - La Yola. Another not to be missed dining spot (be sure to make reservations as too for Bao, a Japanese restaurant on site. La Yola is all of about a 10 minute drive from the hotel which provides transportation to and from as too to other places you might need to get to although taxis or Uber are also available.|Five stars is not a high enough rating for this hotel. I cannot wait to return.
