We booked for 3 nights, and had a double room with private bathroom (located outside the room). The place is a little hard to find, its in an apartment and only the cleaner was there when we arrived so a neighbour let us in and we were left wandering the corridors trying to find it! The owner turned up quickly after and gave us a warm welcome and explanation (via google translate!) of San Sebastian.||||Room was basic but clean and comfy. Bathroom very clean. The only inconvenience was having a bathroom not in your room, which we kept locked. I wouldn't have thought we would have needed to do that, but a nosy couple also staying in the apartment thought to open our bedroom door one evening so we thought it best to lock each door. ||||Breakfast was basic but useful. Bread, butter, cheese, ham, jams and fruit.||||Great location, 10 min walk from the bus station, the beach and old town. Lots of bars nearby which is convenient, but definitely head to the old town for food instead.
A bit tricky to find without Google Maps! It's a guesthouse in a converted apartment so you need to buzz 3-C to be let in to the building. It's on the third floor and the left was a bit temperamental. Bedrooms are clean but small, and no air conditioning. At the moment there's a building site across the road which means having the window open can be noisy. The interior walls are paper thin -- you can clearly hear TVs and conversations in adjoining rooms. Bathrooms are well equipped but not ensuite (you can request a private bathroom when booking, but you still step across the public hallway to use it). Investing in soundproofing would improve the experience of staying at Yoldi a lot. There's a communal room which has tea, coffee and shop-bought pastries and fruit on offer around the clock. The location is very good but the nearby parking costs €25 a day. And at €130 per night, the guesthouse itself is quite expensive considering the above.
