What a tremendous disappointment. We stayed at another Iberostar property in Mexico, where everything was wonderful, and we were expecting the same level here. It was not to be. The grounds and the place are fantastic. However, the outdoor swimming pool is unusable because it is not heated. The indoor swimming pool is very small. The hotel has weird quirks, like charging €3 for the use of the in-room safe, a feature, if that is free everywhere else. We have never stayed at a hotel that would charge such fee. They charge €20 deposit per pool towel, that you have to procure at the pool house on the opposite end of the grounds, and you cannot return it to the front desk, you have to return it at the pool house. But the biggest complaint is the quality of variety of food. It looks like this hotel caters to the British and German vacationers, as there was nothing local for food. The quality of food was that that you can get at the school cafeteria. More quirks, you can not get any wine, except for a tap wine during lunch, even though this is an all inclusive. At dinner, you cannot use the coffee machines, so if you would like to have coffee with your dessert, you have to go to the upstairs bar, get your coffee, bring it downstairs to the dining area and then enjoy your food. The inconsistency in the brand is probably the biggest problem here. At the Iberostar we previously stayed at it was a luxurious resort, very romantic very peaceful very well run. At this Iberostar it did not feel like a resort it felt like a beautiful hotel full of screaming kids, families and retirees on tour buses. The front reception staff seemed to be on the defense. Perhaps because the clientele here is constantly trying to take advantage of the hotel. The staff everywhere else was very friendly and kind which was a plus. No queen or king size beds - two twins together. Beware.
