Celtic International Hotel Cardiff Airport

For my first visit to Wales, I wanted to stay close by to the airport I flew in at, and I needed something very affordable due to the currency exchange rate and my budget. What I got was so much more! This was a very quaint hotel in a beautiful, bucolic, quiet part of Rhoose. I forgot to ask how old the lovely brick building is, but it's kept well with sensible furniture and daily cleaning. It reminded me a lot of the Great Northern Hotel in Twin Peaks, and The Shining hotel, and that's a compliment. I stayed on the first floor both times last week, and had 2 different sized rooms that both had just enough storage for my giant luggage, and super warm bedding. I loved the Welsh cider and battered cod at dinner, as well as their take on curry. The fried Brie though!!!! Can't wait to try dessert next time! But what really made my stay memorable were the staff. Jessica and Mike, as well as another woman who's at the desk on Sundays, were so welcoming, helpful, understanding, and informative about the region and Welsh culture. I loved visiting Barry, and I definitely plan to come back soon with my partner. We will definitely be staying at the Celtic next time ❤️
