We stayed for 2 nights at Escape to celebrate New Year’s Eve. We stayed in room 1, for £175 per night. The staff were very nice and helpful, we enjoyed the complementary Prosecco and nibbles on the 31st. It feels like a family run business rather than a hotel and that’s a good thing. However I was a bit underwhelmed by the quality of the room. The shower was really bad, there was no pressure at all and the paint/wooden floor were quite tired and would benefit from some care/refurbishment. The shower width is very tight and we are not that large ourselves. The shower temperature control was also quite difficult to use. You can also hear pretty much everything happening in the corridor and you can see the light during the night. We could hear the people next door talking/watching TV as well. The bed was large and comfortable and it was good to have access to a kettle/tea and coffee. Another positive were the complimentary bottles of water replenished daily. Breakfast was nice with a good variety of food on the menu. All in all we enjoyed our stay but it is not worth 5 starts yet!
