Very tasteful and recently renovated. We had the top floor room with the kitchenette. Loved the view from the room and the experience of being right in the heart of the old city was really memorable. Staff were excellent. They had a handy parking location for our car and sent a driver with a golf cart to get us. Breakfast was absolutely excellent with quaint outdoor seating. Nothing negative to say except there's no elevator, but that's the well-worth-it trade off for a charming old location rather than a mega hotel.
Recently I stayed with my partner at The Melegran, and we had a fantastic experience. The location first seemed too central, but when we walked around Rovinj we realized it's ideal to stay in the old town. The room (13) in an annex building was quiet, we could sleep very well. Noises could only be heard from the room next door once. The quality of the room, the bed, the bathroom are all high, decorated with good taste. The staff is amazing, very helpful and their answer was always yes, making requests and changes easier. The buffet breakfast is served in a nearby restaurant until 12 (!) with a generous opening time also for those who like to stay in bed late. Rich breakfast on a lovely terrace of the neighorhood. The parking is about a 6-8 minute walk from the hotel, the arrival and the departure is assisted by a bellboy who picks you up with a buggy and helps with the luggage. Would definitely go back again, both to Rovinj and The Melegran.
