We spent three nights at Residenza Dei Capitani in Room 6, with partial view of Piazza del Popolo. The location is just perfect! The large Queensize bed is very comfortable, the sofa bed less so for an adult, but would be OK for children. Large, very clean bathroom with fluffy, thick bath sheets and free good quality toiletries. There is a Lavazza coffee maker and a kettle in the room with a selection of fine teas and coffee pods. Bottled mineral water is also available in the small fridge. Large TV (Italian channels only). Didn't use air conditioning unit as not needed in this period. Many thanks to the lady in reception (Alessia) who was very helpful. The continental breakfast (coffee/tea and a pastry) is included and served in a nearby cafè by presenting a voucher provided by the hotel. Additional beverages and/or food will incur a small supplement to be paid for at the cafè. We parked our car at the Parcheggio Ex-Seminario (about 7 minutes walk away), for €2 per night, and a charge of €0.80 per hour in the day. Overall a lovely first visit to Ascoli Piceno, and we will definitely return.
We spent one night in a family room. Hotel is simple but the room we had was large with a double bed and a sofa bed. We - essentially four adults - had no problems being in the same room together. Breakfast is at a café 3 minutes walk away. You get a voucher for a coffee and a cornetto. One plus is that the room had a coffee machine with capsules. ||Staff at reception were kind.||It does not seem possible to park on the street in the city centre. You need a residents card and the parking area was full. So we used the locked garage offered by the hotel (15 euros a night), which is about 400 metres away. ||Recommended.
