The hotel is some distance from Catania center but very close to the beach. Guests also get free access to one of the Lido's close by, so it depends on what you want, easy beach access or being in the city. The area is a bit dilapidated though, many ruined buildings, which is a bit strange because it seems ripe for development with luxury condos and hotels. The beach is wide, clean and sandy, so great! Rooms are spacious with a good bed and clean. We had our own private terrace, which was nice for the evenings. One thing to note though, was a very limited amount of power outlets. If you want to charge your phone you have to unplug something because nothing is free. The (non- complementary) breakfast was good but not spectacular. A bit of a miss for a place like Sicily is the lack of fresh orange juice... All in all we had a pleasant stay and I would certainly consider booking here again.

For US people, this is comparable to an old La Quinta or Best Western. The grounds are nice but the inside is old and not in a good way. Room was small and aged. Bath had old water stuck in it and no way to fix it before we had to leave. AC was ancient and didn’t go below 75. It would also reset to 80 about every hour or two. I’m sure this property was great in its old days. It has some very cool finishes on the walls of the lounge area and in some of the hallways. The pool also looked well cared for and parking was secure in a closed lot. Breakfast said it was free but it wasn’t - we were charged 10 Euro per person. It’s just not what I expect for almost 200 USD a night. I’ve stayed all over Italy and never had this type of experience. It definitely doesn’t qualify as “luxury”. Oh BTW, there was also a really weird note in the room explaining charges if you take things like a small hand towel, sheet, toilet etc. I mean, who’s taking a toilet? It was bizarre - made the experience all the more unique I guess.
