Hotel Rendez Vous

A little surprised at how we viewed this hotel after reading some of the previous reviews.|It’s on a busy road so lots of road noise from our room, which was on the ground floor at the back offering little privacy without the curtains pulled across, and a view of some broken pipes (drains?extractors?) as we lay in bed. Stained carpet. View of mountains if you strained your neck through window. Prebooked weeks before so a little surprised not to be given a better room.|Had to ask for extra pillows.|No complimentary toiletries.|Seemed surprised to be asked to use the sauna, and the whole wellness area was a bit tired and looked unused. Needed to ask for extra towels as they assumed we could use our bathroom ones, which wouldn’t be very pleasant.|Meal in restaurant downstairs was friendly, busy but my veal was utterly tasteless and swimming in liquid,and my partners cheese fondue also somehow managed to be tasteless, although the starters of salad and mushroom linguine were ok.|Went back up to the little bar in hotel for a nightcap and was surprised they didn’t have any whiskey.|Breakfast was good with nice local yoghurt.|But we won’t be returning, sorry.
