We stayed at Dimora Naviglio for our last four nights in Italy. From the moment Gianluca picked us up at the train station until we waved good-bye at the airport, we felt that we were staying with friends. Dimora Naviglio is in Dolo, half way between Venice and Padua. Our room had everything we could possibly need, the beds were incredibly comfortable and the breakfast buffet plentiful. Gianluca also operates Travel & Bike (travelandbike.it) and we were given access to the bikes for our entire stay. Cycling along the canal proved to be the best way to see the area, including Padua, and our bikes were sturdy and well-equipped. On the day we ventured into Venice, Gianluca had bus tickets for us. (They anticipated our every need.) We were overwhelmed by Venice and so happy to return to the peaceful Domora Naviglio where we sat in the garden and enjoyed a glass of wine (okay, two glasses) and cheese, prosciutto, bread and olives that we picked up on our way back. If I could give them an 11 rating, I would.
