Choose another hotel! The hotel is overall nice, but the owners really unpleasant. Food is very good, but after 1 week the stomach gets upset. The staff is really excellent, in particular in the restaurant and the maître de salle. The room was horrible, facing a parking lot. When I asked to have a better room they (owner and desk staff) treated me extremely (extremely) unpleasantly. Paid way, way (!!) too much for it!, approx 130/night. Not worth it. There are many extremely nice hotels in the area. Why go there to get a horrible and expensive room, and be treated poorly? Avoid it!
I've just had one of the best holidays of my life at the Portavescovo. It is really well located for the many runs in and out of Arabba. The food was great, as was the service. The staff were welcoming. The only downside was that it was a bit noisy, but that is more to do with the bin lorry doing the rounds at 5am and there is not a lot that the hotel can do about that.
