The Casa del Pellegrino was first famous as 'The Golden Eagle', Padua's most fashionable hotel in the early 1800s. Its setting, directly across the road from the treasury of the Basilica of St. Anthony, is unique and the bells are wonderful. The corridors of the hotel are spacious. It is scrupuously clean and the administrative staff in the front hall are well-informed, friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel caters for huge numbers of people. It is good value and a really nice place to stay. Full marks!

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our time there. Our room had good AC and crisp bedlinen on the beds which were quite comfortable. The hotel is located a few minutes walking from the Basilica which is brilliant. Bathroom facilities were good. Tea making facilities in the room would have been welcome especially for stays of longer than overnight. The breakfast, not included in our booking, was €8 each and was well worth it as there was a good variety to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would return here for the convenience of the location primarily.
