Stayed for 4 nights. The rooms are not particularly comfortable nor well thought out - very rough around the edges (for example, the toilet roll holder was mounted at knee level right in front of the toilet, meaning you had to sit uncomfortably on an angle - ?? - the shower/bath had the shower head mounted so that you would need to straddle the bath taps otherwise the water would flood the floor of the bathroom…). Just generally uncomfortable and not becoming for a four-star experience. There was a lot of noise throughout the night coming from other areas or rooms of the hotel. The bathroom smelt like cigarettes every morning due to a vent. There was very poor wifi in the rooms (none at all for much of the time) and the staff showed no interest in helping us with this. The staff were unhelpful, bordering on rude. They were condescending to us as young guests (both my partner and I are late-twenties). The room was not inexpensive, I must add. The common areas were very nice, however prices for food and drink were expensive. Definitely steer clear of the rooftop. The view is truly incredible, but the 20 euro drinks and atrocious and noisy entertainment soon make you wish you hadn’t bothered. Similarly, our experience in the restaurant was poor. We likened the food to microwave meals (again, not inexpensive). The breakfast and truly horrible coffee are not worth getting out of bed for. The location is honestly great. However, the Majestic Palace would do better to focus on providing guests with a comfortable and friendly hotel experience rather than a faux-luxury attempt that misses the mark on many levels and leaves guests feeling ripped off and unwelcome.
