We only stayed here for a night, but it was a very good choice. The few rooms were lovingly renovated in a 250 year-old building located in a small street a little away from the busy arteries, yet very close to the main sights, Ca d’Oro water boat station, Fte Nova for the ferries to the airport, Murano, Burano etc. You could walk almost everywhere if you so wish to. The owner Alessandro was friendly and helpful, and maintained the place to high standards, the room was clean, comfortable, has a coffee machine, TV, aircon, even a Murano glass chandelier. I had wanted to stay in a 4 or 5* Palace like I usually did in Venice, but they tend to be quite tired both outside and inside and I didn’t wish to risk mouldy bathrooms. With the choice of bars and restaurants around, there wouldn’t be any need for drinking or dining options in-house, so a beautiful, comfortable and well-located room was more of a priority. And the coffee was good. It was no fault of the owner, but we were just unfortunate to be woken up pretty early by a group of very loud and talkative people in the street, by noise of someone moving things on wheels and probably by some renovation work (chipping away at stone). But that’s also Venice with its narrow streets, so relatively speaking, it was still great to be away from the touristic crowds.
