By far the best and only place to stay at when wanting to whole traditional experience of Venice. Facing the Basílica Santa Maria della Salute, the views are exceptional. The hotel has arranged airport transfer for us, which is a personal collection before even arriving to passport control, a swift S class transfer from airport to water port (approx 5min) followed by a water taxi transport (approx 25min) to the hotel entrance directly, which is definitely worth the experience. Upon arrival staff are very polite and helpful. Check-in wasn't until 3pm but when you walk out of the building you are right in the buzzle of all the major luxury brands in Venice as well as a 10min walk from the St Mark square. The rooms are very comfortable, we were able to receive a room on the second floor which by tradition of old buildings is the one with the highest ceilings,facing the side canal. The hotel offers 9 rooms facing the Basílica and main river, too. The restaurant Club del Doge as well as the bar Riva are visited by High-class clientele and drinks as well as dishes were exquisite. A little letdown was the gym, which essentially was just one room with a couple machines. Their spa is operated by sisley. This isn't a hotel I would like to visit with kids (we didn't see any) but highly recommended for couples adults etc. (but then again I wouldn't recommend visitng Venice with young children either, it's full of stairs and steps and bridges). Thumbs up will return.
