The front desk staff must be the most unfriendly of anyplace I've ever stayed. The shower says one must let water run for 1 minute to get hot water. We let it run in excess of 10 and had no hot water yet. It was luke warm at best. This was two evenings in a row. (It was warm in the morning). When we complained to the front desk, we were told, "No. It's working just fine!" After much protest he finally said, "Maybe try letting it run for 15 next time?" While writing this review, I timed it and finally got reasonably warm water after 4 minutes and 51 seconds. Last night, both my partner and I took luke warm showers and it never did get any warmer. Also, as someone raised Mormon and now agnostic, I was perfectly prepared for the Catholic theme and history of the place, but having a nearly 4 foot tall cross attached to the top of my headboard felt like a line too far. The website offers a free drink upon check-in, but we had to specifically ask about this amenity, and were told we had to ask the front desk for a coupon, and only between 6-9 p.m. on our first night's stay. This place promises a good experience on the website, but it was lackluster all around. The only redeeming feature was location, but for price and location, there are certainly better options. This isn't a place I'd recommend to anyone. Look elsewhere.

We stayed recently. The hotel courtyard is absolutely beautiful. Reception was very nice and helpful when we needed anything, but I felt the barman was pretty rude to us when we went to get our "welcome" cocktails. Totally unaccommodating to my friend who doesn't drink alcohol. I would rather they didn't provide welcome cocktails if they have to be given by this unpleasant man. The rooms had a nice design, but I didn't find the beds very comfortable, especially in comparison to what the standard should be for a 5-star hotel. The sheets were kind of hard/rough and we were only given sheets and no comforter for the bed. We were eventually given blankets for the bed when we asked, but they smelled bad. My friend commented that she felt the room smelled of mold. Although there was AC, somehow the room still felt damp. The bathroom door would make an extremely loud noise when you went to close it. The location was great, only a few blocks away from the main square, but far enough not to hear any noise at night from the bars, which we appreciated.
