We (luckily) found Ontico Hotel after staying in another hotel in Merida that we cancelled after the first night because it was too loud, dirty and bad location. For almost the same price we stayed in Ontico for four nights with our little daughter. The hotel was located around 5-10min walk to city center, look and feel of the hotel was brandnew. We couldn’t see any issues, the room (upper floor can only be reached by stairs) was spacious, nice bathroom (lots of warm water and good water pressure) and two comfy doublebeds. Even though the room was located next to the busier street we slept well and didn’t feel like it was too noisy. The AC worked fine. Breakfast was continental (just toast, fruits and granola + coffee) but good for our needs. When entering the hotel you immediately feel welcome, the receptionist spoke English and opened the parking lot for us (you have to ask to find it). We would always stay here again. (Just for reference we paid around 300$ for 4 nights on a last minute promotion from booking, perfect price for having a free parking lot in city center as well!)
