Trying to keep this one in perspective. If we could do half stars this is a 2.5 for me. Maybe it didn't help that we followed up really nice, high end Hiltons in Playa, Tulum and Cancun, but facts are facts. ||Pros:|The Bell/Valet staff was wonderful, beyond helpful and friendly. Breakfast was also excellent. Decent proximity to the downtown square. Pros stop there. ||Cons:|The front desk staff probably couldn't be les helpful. You are greeted with a smile, but it ends there. The deal sealer for me was calling downstairs to ask if they could call me a cab. "You need to talk to the bell staff for that". |"OK, can you transfer me?"|"They dont have a phone, you'll need to come down here and ask them yourself"||Very annoyed that they couldn't walk ten feet to ask them to call a cab (or just do it themselves), we come down the elevator to see the lady I just spoke to, literally sitting at the desk talking to 2 other co-workers, no customers around. She couldn't have been bothered to walk ten feet to assist a customer in calling a cab, instead prioritized doing nothing and chumming it up with 2 co-workers. ||Another time my wife asked for a couple bottles of water, to get a talking to that they give us 2 a day and that's it, and they'll only make this exception once (I'm 15 years Hilton Diamond, this is slightly annoying when literally every other Hilton in the Yucatan was offering waters every time we left, pulled up, anything). ||Twice we called down and asked if they could pull our car up, and the font desk said no problem. Only to come down ten minutes later and find out, they did nothing whatsoever. ||Asked for recommendations on a laundromat nearby, to have the front desk lady point to the first one on my list (on my phone) and say that's a good option. Indeed this was not a good option and it had been long closed down. ||Also seemed annoyed with every interaction that required them to do work. ||This is all relatively minor, but after seeing every other Hilton in the Yucatan just go above and beyond with over the top service, this was completely poor in every way. The hotel itself is fine, nothing more. Gym incredibly small and crowded, but I could get past that. Service alone makes this a hotel I would not re-visit when coming back. Look elsewhere.
