Place is pretty average and is in desperate need of being upgraded/refurbished. Pool is very small and not upkept. Front office staff was nice but not much help; they told us that the nearest place to get something to eat was in downtown (we later found a number of places in the area with delicious one named "Platos Rotos" [Broken Dishes] about 3 blocks away). Not sure if I'd return to this place when there's much nicer places in the downtown area.
This hotel has a lot to offer but fell a bit short. The check in was great, David was pleasant and efficient. But the bell hop was a star, he was witty, charming and helpful, he made suggestions for restaurants and even gave us a note to give to the head waiter at one of the restaurants, which got us a free drink. I believe his name was Hector, a great ambassador for this hotel. It appears everyone booking the standard king get placed at the very back, facing a painted wall, not really bad as you don’t get the heat or noise back there. The hotel appeared to be basically empty except for a few rooms, all of us in the back section. But we struggled to get maid service regularly, we had to catch the maid as she bypassed our room to get shampoo, bottled waters and fresh towels and hot water in the shower was sporadic. Strangely there were often more staff than guests around. The pool area is very pretty but tiny, with a small cafe that serves light meals, coffees and cold beer. The dining room is open most days, but not all, we were the only ones for breakfast on two occasions but there were 2 or 3 staff working and on the first occasion the waiter insisted we could only pay with cash. One order of French toast and one fruit plate, no coffees or juice was 24.00 but the next time we ate there we both had breakfast and coffee and it was less and we could pay by visa. I enquired once about the dinner menu and it took three staff to find a menu, no one seemed to know where they were. The hotel offered room service but we could not find a menu or any information on their web site. They also offer great spa services but again the web site was very poorly written. I used what’s up app to contact them and book an appointment, it was affordable and very good. Reyenne, I’m not sure of the spelling of her name, was very good and I would highly recommend her, the spa was rarely busy and I was able to book within twenty minutes of the contacting her. Again the web site really does not spell out the services or prices very clearly for any of the hotel services. This hotel is in a nice, just off the beaten path, area and is very pretty but just doesn’t quite make the grade like it’s competitors in the area do.
