I find it fairly canny of the management of budget hotels to keep visitors' expectations nice and low. "You get what you pay for" is very much a common mantra among such places, and in the case of this hotel, the facilities are quite literally drawn on the wall of the lobby: air-conditioned rooms, running showers and a place to sleep. ||||In that, the hotel is pretty much a success. There's even cable television. ||||Unfortunately, no matter how low its aim, GV ultimately misses the mark as, just as I checked in, I saw two big, fat cockroaches in my colleague's room. Now, cockroaches are a rather mundane thing; I have them running around my house all the time, and getting rid of them for any longer than a few months at a time is a perennial challenge. ||||The thing is, this place is a hotel, and it's their job to keep their rooms clean, and while the cockroaches were not in my room, they could quite have easily have been.||||The good news, though, is that my room was clean, the water pressure was good, and the bed was comfortable. I slept reasonably well.||||Just as a place to sleep, I recommend this place with the reservation that the guest should check for cockroaches. To be fair to the staff, they take prompt action on such complaints.
