Amazing place. Absolutely peaceful and best relaxation resort to visit. From their well designed rooms, accommodating staff and appetizing foods, I am in love with this paradise.

Staying here was the worst part of my trip to the Philippines. If I could go back in time I would never have booked this place. I am not one who typically looks for "eco" focussed places, so when I booked this place for a splurge for our 10 year anniversary, being "eco" friendly wasn't really a deciding factor, but I wish it would have been. We found out the story of how the resort was built by destroying all of the mangroves where the beaches are now (that are manmade since it used to be lined with all the mangroves). They killed corals to build the overwater bungalows and are definitely not trying to use any eco friendly energy to run their electricity with the loud genenerator that you can hear as you walk around the island. It was easy to feel their goal to make as much money as possible without caring about the natural beauty that was all around that they keep destroying with even more overwater bungalows being built. Once we learned about these things, we tried to cancel and stay at the much more stunning and peaceful resort that we were already staying at. Sunlight was unwilling to let us cancel even after our booking agent tried to reach a deal. They then charged us an expensive docking fee to have our other resort who drove us on their boat to Sunlight, as well as pay for an expensive boat ride back to Coron Town. These details are online, so that was my fault for not reading the fine print better, but made for an already frustrating situation even worse. The workers were all very kind and are just trying to make a living for their families. The facilities were actually a little run down, which was surprising based on the price of the resort. Food was also pricey, but the pool was beautiful as was our room with the overwater balcony to watch the sunrise. If you're looking for a resort close by that actually felt like paradise and had so much more to offer, with delicious food included and the most stunning reefs that weren't destroyed, super powdery natural beaches, and a natural hot springs to soak in, go to Sangat Island Dive Resort instead. I thought Sunlight was going to feel like such a great experience for our 10th anniversary, but would have been SO much happier if we had just stayed at Sangat.
