Our stay at Hippocampus was decent for a 3 night stay. Given what we paid, it was as expected and overall we enjoyed our time here. The cons about staying here is that the water pressure is really bad and the water itself is quite brackish - so it’s hard to feel truly clean after diving the whole day. The food at the restaurant was also ok - a bit overpriced for what it is but not the worst meal I’ve had while travelling around the Philippines! Service can be a bit slow at first but once we ordered things turned around quickly. The pros are that the staff are super friendly and helpful! We had lots of logistical questions that they were happy to deal with in the moment, even after reception had closed. The bed was quite comfortable - a bit of a hard mattress but that was honestly good for my back post-diving. And in general the location on the island is great with a beachfront and loads of shops and other resorts very nearby. Also - for me the Wi-Fi barely worked but my partner was able to stream Netflix. So maybe not the most reliable, but I can say it is at least good for basic messaging and emails. Phone signal was great though with GOMO.
