My comments are in line with many who have commented before me. Firstly the hotel is nice, clean and modern but it is far from 5*. Having stayed in places like the Langham Hotel Hong Kong, then I know what a 5* hotel is like. For a UK comparison it is on a par with the likes of a Holiday Inn or Welcome Break Hotel, totally acceptable just not palatial. Its located down a quiet dark side street, which could be off putting for a lone female traveller but it is centrally located and only about 5 minutes walk to the main town square. The room: We booked a suite as there were 4 of us, two teenagers. Rather than being in two rooms, it appealed as the Website made it look like a split level accomodation with two separate bathrooms. Wrong there was one main bathroom and a separate toilet on the upper floor. So having to get 4 people showered and ready in a morning with 2 women and 1 hair dryer in the bathroom was a complete ball ache. I can handle a sofa bed for additional beds but getting the fourth bed that was on par with something out of a two man tent is not very 5*, the mattress was dreadful and was changed the next day. The main bed was comfortable, though again as previously mentioned by others the pillows were for style with absolutely no substance. My biggest gripe is the bathroom. It's a relatively newly built hotel, so lovely clean and modern, but nobody in their right mind wouldn't put a walk-in shower in a hotel room. It had a nice corner bath with shower head, but who realistically has a bath in a hotel, especially when there are 4 of you sharing the room. There was no shower screen or curtain, and despite every effort to keep the floor dry, each morning it was soaked! Breakfast was like sitting through review deja vu. Clearly the management do not listen to their customers! This is no fault of the staff waiting on. Service was painfully slow, one morning we waited over 20 mins for a pot of tea. Although 1hr remained of the serving time most things were slow to be refreshed if things had run out, and tables were slow to be cleared. The food was OK just very limited selection, though the omelettes were very good. Most food is done to order so if unlucky you could be waiting a long while for a cooked breakfast. The staff were helpful just that the spoken English in the hotel wasn't fantastic, I speak no Polish so I'm equally at fault. After booking the room with it being New Year I had asked if a recommendation could be made in order to book a restaurant, I made this request 3 times, without any response which was disappointing. Don't get me wrong the comments are mainly niggles, the hotel wasn't so bad that I wouldn't stay again.
