Lovely hotel with modern decor and fab plants and fish to look at. Spotlessly clean throughout. Very attentive staff and I really appreciated flowers from the cleaners on my birthday ❤️. The themed evenings in the different restaurants were really brilliant and the food was superb. The walk back from the centre of Funchal is quite a hilly climb. There is a bus stop near the hotel but they do get busy in the peak periods and get packed with standing room along the bus. Beautiful island with stunning scenery.

Having been to this hotel on a number of occasions, we have witnessed the changes, both in design and philosophy. It is a very relaxed atmosphere, so there is no need for dashing down to the sunbeds at 4.00am morning to place your towels. There is always plenty of tables available in the restaurant, although we have visited during the full holiday season.For those with food intolerances, the staff are always helpful and considerate. Easting outside on the terrace can be a bit windy sometime, but refreshing!
