We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and are always so glad to return, it has become our bolt hole when we want a quiet relaxing holiday. The hotel is excellent and the restaurant this year has become even better with a new chef and manager, we finished up eating there 3 times over the length of our stay. Although the hotel is good, it is the staff that make it so very special. Everyone is so helpful & polite and cannot do enough for you. A great place to relax & feel pampered and thoroughly recommended. Cannot wait to return.

We had a lovely stay at the Quintinha Sao João. This is a very well run hotel, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of choice, the drinks were reasonably priced, we ate half board and there wasn’t that much choice in meals. The Al carte menu looked very good, so we wished we’d had this. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the balcony overlooked a small but pretty garden. The only small niggle was the noise from the road, which detracted from the peacefulness. All in all a great place to stay.
