We loved our holiday at Pestana Ocean Bay. We made the most of seeing Madeira in a week and starting the day with a hearty breakfast ending it with a ready meal at the end of the day was great. Food and drinks were ok. Some days better than others, overall good. They did prepare packed lunch if you asked the day before but we enjoyed eating out whilst visiting places or walking.

The hotel is quite dated, the beds are very firm. The food and beverages are fresh and plentiful, there's something for everyone. The facilities are good. It's a bit far from Funchal Town but is accessible by the hotels shuttle bus or local bus. I'd probably stay a bit nearer in future but the benefit here is there's no noise accept for the waves on the beach right outside.
