Was a comfortable good value stay. Room kept clean. I struggled to find where to plug my kettle and charger in but came back to find the cleaner had set up a much better arrangement. Also when i hung washing in the shower to dry they moved it to the window inside the shutter and it was bone dry when i got back. Good choice of buffet breakfast lots of fruit/salad as well as selections of breads cold meat and cheese etc. I ate on the terrace with views over valley.|Other reviews mentioned noise. I did get woken early by cockrels and dogs and would lie in bed enjoying the athmosphere. If thatcis not for you maybe pick somewhere the far end of the city in the tourist area. Also it is typical building on side of hill, over several floors and no lift, so if several flights of stairs to dining room a problem try elsewhere.|Was quite a steep walk back in the evenings, kept the pounds off despite the madeira tastings and ice creams. About 20 mins into the city and much the same to old city area. Small bar at hotel and they would ring for a take away for you in the evenings if you dont want to go out again to eat. They also booked me a tour at short notice and i got picked up at the gate. |Overall i had a good stay and would def go again.
