Staff v lovely and welcoming.|Spotlessly clean.|Upgraded to a sunset suite. Much more modern furniture and kitchen. ENORMOUS balcony stretching the living room and bedroom, overlooking the pool. Ludicrously tiny bathroom but it’s just somewhere to take a quick shower, no biggie.|Breakfast lovely. Something for everyone including a yoghurt fridge. We expected old treadle tables based on trip advisor photos but they are old. The restaurant is vvv modern and has a semi outdoor seating area by the pool. Lovely to visit. Plus a small bar serving snacks and drinks and crisps all day.|Local area easy to access. Very residential and felt extremely safe. Only downside, in November the on site shop is closed. Had to get a Uber to Lidl on the first day. Just spoilt it a bit, having to visit a major supermarket within an hour of arriving. Some local small shops selling cheese, water, crisps etc when you get to know the place.|Take the river taxi over to Praia as rocha. 2 minute journey and good fun.|I could go on and on but it really is a quaint little place. Nothing flash. Just a good working small fishing town. |The hotel itself sits at the top of a hill so you get really great views of ferrugudo square (cafes and restaurants). Also the river and over to portimao. Everything is much close than we expected and we didn’t find killer hill to be a big deal but you do need a basic level of mobility and fitness to climb it. |Ubers are vvvvvvv good quick and reliable . |Enjoy :-) |
We stayed at this hotel for four nights for Rolling Loud Portugal in Portimão. Great location for the festival, it seems far but the ubers are super cheap and we didn’t spend more than €10 on a uber during the festival. The rooms are clean but pretty basic, they are good if you are only staying for 1-4 nights but I wouldn’t want to stay over that. Upon arrival, we were placed into a room with two separate beds (even though we are clearly a couple) but staff were happy to change our room on the same day. The water pressure in the bathroom was terrible when using cold water and if you tried to make it a little bit warmer it went really hot and almost unusable. The breakfast is okay - nothing amazing, you can’t see the kitchen and you have to pay for bottled water - unless you want to drink the water provided which has cinnamon inside. My partner said the eggs however were some of the best he’s ever had at a hotel. The pastries were not great though. We didn’t get to use the pool area as we forgot towels and they didn’t have a pool towel service sadly as we would have definitely paid for this with there not being many shops in the area. The gym was quite good for a hotel. There were a lot of ants on our balcony though and I saw a cockroach outside our room one night which freaked me out. A particular staff member, didn’t catch his name, who worked nightshift was lovely. But the rest of the staff were a bit rude but I think this might be because they were busy. Overall, an average hotel, wouldn’t stay here for a full holiday though - not enough to do. Please note too, hotel is not very accessible either for those with disabilities, no lifts all stairs and hills.
