If you want to stay on a quiet working farm with breathtaking views and a lovely family taking care of you then this is the Quinta for you. Breakfast is amazing and don’t miss the opportunity to drink wine and watch the sunset. It’s a 7-10 minute drive from town so it’s easy to pop in for dinner. It’s rustic and peaceful, with comfortable beds and quite nights.
We stayed at Quinta do Valdalagea for three nights, midway through a three week trip to Portugal. It was a welcome break from city touring to relax in the beautiful Douro Valley. Anabella took good care of us and we were fortunate to meet the owner and learn the rich family history of the Quinta and his desire to preserve it. It is conveniently located off a main road (with a short, slow drive uphill) and easy enough to get out to Lamego, Regua, Pinhao, etc.. We loved walking through the vinyards. Our only regret is not planning time to taste the wines produced in house!
