A nice and secluded place away from the hassle - even a bit hidden. About the SPA: Small but nicely laid out. But the prices are challenging: 35 / 45€ for a full day, 20/25€ for 5 hours and 15/20€ for 3 hours (working days / vs. weekends & high season). Generally, I don't understand why spas must be so expensive in PT. These are prices like at home in Germany - and I already find them expensive there 😅 Also, when you want an hourly package, you only have a certain time slot you need to book - which I find very restricting. They could just let people in whenever time they come and charge for whatever time they spent when they leave. And that bathing cap thing. Come on, which century are we living in...? It has shown that they don't really prevent losing hair and was therefore canceled 40 years ago in Germany... According to some other reviewers, they are not collaborative when there are complaints about a broken sauna, massage jets, cleanliness etc. For such high prices, they should be more customer friendly. Unfortunately, it just seems that Portugal is not a wellness/ SPA country. Only some rich people from the big cities or foreigners can afford it. With it's low wages, affordable food and some nice hotels, Portugal could be a great country for international tourists seeking for a wellness holiday like in the Czech Republic for example. But spas like in Unhais and Caldas da Felgueira just have the same expensive and restrictive SPA policies.

My wife and I booked a last-minute stay at the resort and spa due to poor weather up in the mountains where we originally were going to stay. The resort was absolutely top notch. We dined at the restaurant each night and the food, wine, and cocktails were extraordinary, and the service was absolutely exceptional. The cocktail presentations were especially impressive - I have never seen anything that compares to be honest. The spa facilities were very nice and we enjoyed using the gym even though it wasn't the most well-equipped. The pools, saunas, and other amenities were very nice although we were a little surprised children were permitted. Each time we chose to use those facilities, small children were present which did detract from the peace and ambiance. The rooms were huge and extremely comfortable.
