Just spent four nights at this charming place and absolutely loved it! The staff, hands down, make the experience. From the guys at the front desk to the ladies that make the breakfast and clean the rooms, they are all professional, helpful, fun to chat with, and dedicated to making you feel welcome and well cared for during your stay. The house itself is beautiful, very clean, with a fantastic view (we stayed in suite 7) of the ocean and town, and a great location to explore the town from or drive in/out of town easily. Parking lot for guests is next to the hotel, which was fantastic. Not a negative, just for awareness, the shower/bathroom area is separated by a glass wall from the rest of the room -- which is large, airy, and comfortable (desk, sofa, comfy bed!), so it's a bit noisy for the person who is still trying to sleep when the other turns on the bathroom light and/or take shower. Not a big deal for us, but wanted to mention it. Definitely staying here again when we visit the island again.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Volcanic Charming House, in Ribeira Grande. A quaint, comfortable, sustainable house full of all amenities. You feel like you are at home. The breakfast is wonderful and has a variety of foods, local as well. The grounds are well kept. The infinity pool is amazing. The staff- Helder, Sofia, Daniel, Duarte and everyone were all incredible. Extremely kind, helpful, full of wonderful advice on the many places to visit. Piece of advice: if you head down to Ribeira Grande, you need to make reservations at the restaurants.
