First the positives: 1. Location right smack in the old town 2. Room was spacious and bright 3. Bed was comfortable 4. Walk-in shower 5. Friendly and polite breakfast team 6. There is elevator Next the negatives: 1. Service was inconsistent. Although we had a fast and pleasant check-in, the service went downhill after. Reception is only available until 6pm. However, no one is at the counter by 5.45pm. 2. We had issues with the room. The sofa bed was dusty as well as the cushions. We had to bear with rashes. 3. Handheld shower holder was faulty. The catch was damaged so the handheld shower keeps dropping although it was adjusted up. Reception promised to send technical person, however no one came and problem not fixed. 4. Toiletries were basic. 5. Breakfast buffet was sad. Only 3 hot selections - scrambled eggs (which filled our sodium quota for the day), sausage and sausage. There was no hot oatmeal. And no you can't request from kitchen. Hard-boiled eggs were also cold, they looked like they just came out of the refrigerator. Pastries were cold and run out before closing time. Coffee was mediocre. 6. Breakfast ends by 9.30am and it really closes by that time as the team has to prepare for lunch service. I have to mention that this was not the fault of the breakfast team who were most apologetic. 7. Hotel located in pedestrian area. Taxi will alight you some distance away. 8. Check out is at 10am. We chose this hotel mainly because of the location and supposingly good breakfast which we read on the reviews. While the location was good, the breakfast was a letdown. There is a lot of potential in this small hotel and I hope the management will look into the areas of improvement.
