We stayed here for 1 month due to getting a great deal through Destination2.|If booking just the hotel through booking.com or their own site this hotel is extremely expensive and overpriced especially for Thailand.||**THE HILL IS NO JOKE** |(mentioned further on the review)||Here is what I thought of the hotel..||Pros|Views from the infinity pool are great. |Rooms are nice, good size and the bed is very comfy. |Breakfast is great, something for everyone from a salad bar, hot food, made of order hot food, pastries, cereals, fresh bread and fresh noodle dishes with dim sum. Fresh coffee and tea available all morning. Anyone who can't pick something from this selection is just being awkward. |Staff are nice and polite, I know some reviews say they were rude and yes I did notice this a couple of times but they were all very polite and helpful to us. |The gym is a little underwhelming.|I didn't use the Spa at the hotel because it is very expensive. Just walk to the main road and you have your choice of massage parlours.||Cons|Not very accommodating, saw this a few times and experienced it myself. You can only have drinks by the pool if you buy them from the hotel otherwise they don't allow it.|There is no atmosphere on an evening in the restaurant which is why every night is has been dead. The food is very overpriced and the portions are small.|Sunbeds are nice, however in peak season definitely wouldn't be enough for the amount of rooms they have, especially when people "save them" all morning without sitting on them. Very selfish! Also it would be nice if the beds had been cleaned each morning after it had rained. |The atmosphere around the pool is very depressing. They play the same music every day in the restaurant and at the pool ||This hotel is listed as a 4 star but I wouldn't rank it any higher than a 3. Also to note in Thailand there isn't an official star rating for hotels. The star rating is based on what facilities they offer and not the quality of the facilities they have. |The rooms are cleaned everyday but not to a high standard due to bedding being ripped and has holes in and the pool towels are covered in stains.|Cleaners come anywhere between 9:15am and 5:30pm. This is not ideal when you've been out all day and want to escape the sun for a bit. Today we were out from 9:00am until 4pm and the cleaner hadn't been yet. ||Now I will address the most negative review about this hotel and that is the Hill - it is very steep and long so unless you are physically fit this is not for you. I go to the gym for 2 hours a day and after food, the heat and humidity makes this a very tiring climb. |Also no matter which room you stay in, you will have stairs to climb, not many but they are unavoidable ||The hotel asks for 2000 baht deposit on arrival which is a little extreme and annoying when you've had a long day traveling it's the last thing you want. |** NOTE** DO NOT USE A DEBIT CARD FOR THIS AS YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK. |CASH OR CREDIT CARD IS SUGGESTED.||The SIS Kata overall was ok.|Would I recommend it - No|Would I stay there again - No
