I stayed four nights while attending a conference at Tamkang University. The hotel is not new as other reviewers have said, but it's not old either (although some of the lamp fittings were interesting), and it's clean, the rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, there's a fridge and tea making facilities, and a good bathroom and shower. My room faced the Tamsui waterfront so I was lucky to have a lovely view.||||Breakfast is good, one of the few places where I've stayed in Asia with a toaster! It's close to lots of places to eat, and the MRT station is a short walk away. Taxis are cheap too and it's easy to get around to the major sights.||||The staff here are exceptional - I arrived at midnight and was met by two smiling gentlemen who got me checked in and in my room in about 5 minutes. All the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble - they spent about 10 minutes one night discussed the best place for us to go to dinner. The staff in the cafe where breakfast is served are busy, but not to busy for a smile and a hello each morning.||||A lovely stay, and if you need to stay in Tamsui, close to the university, stay here.
