Crowne Plaza Tainan, an IHG Hotel

We had a fantastic room (king superior suite river view with living room). Very bright, huge bathroom and a second small bathroom. The furnishings were of the highest standard and very modern. The balcony was also very large with a great view of the sea. The room rate included access to the lounge, where a small buffet with hot and cold dishes, tea/coffee and alcoholic drinks was available in the afternoon. The lounge was rather small and the decor was nothing special, the food was ok but not worth mentioning. No comparison to the lounges and buffets we encountered in Hong Kong or Macao, for example. But the staff in the lounge were extremely courteous and friendly. The entire staff spoke very good English. The hotel is somewhat remote from the city center (but quiet), so a car is recommended. The hotel has a large underground garage with ample free parking. Breakfast was served in a large, beautiful dining room. Although the selection was very large, we didn't find much to eat as the offer was mainly focused on Asian guests. We were delighted with the Crown Plaza, especially the room and the modern furnishings throughout the hotel, and would choose it again in a heartbeat.
