The room was not what one would expect of hotel standards. •The bed ‘scarf’ on the foot of the bed was stained, as was the white comforter cover beneath it. The bed was made with attention to detail, so I don’t think the linens were actually soiled. •However, the side chair was soiled. •The shower curtain had active mold along the bottom edge. When I ran the shower, discolored ‘slime’ flowed out from underneath the rubber tub mat. The towels were dingy and didn’t have a clean smell; more like something that had been hanging in a damp environment too long. •The overpowering smell of bleach permeated every corner of the building, and I was beginning to get a migraine. I had to turn on the AC and bathroom fan, then slightly open the window to air out my room. When I returned after shopping and eating dinner, I was able to stand the air in the room; migraine averted. •I am handicap. When I made my reservation, I was informed that a handicap accessible room was not available, but the service rep said she’d put in a request for a 1st floor room. While my reservation was in the system, my request for a 1st floor room was not. •ON THE UPSIDE: The desk clerk informed me there wasn’t a room available on the 1st floor. He went into the computer, worked some magic, rearranged things, and gave me a 1st floor room. He then directed me to the rear of the building so I could walk in and straight down the hallway, avoiding five stairs at the main entrance. He allowed me to get settled in my room before we completed the paperwork. He was very kind and considerate. He also gave me precise directions to an area with a good selection of restaurants. This gentleman is the only reason my review isn’t a total bust.
