My experience was mostly positive. ||I’ll start with the best stuff: ||1. The location of the hotel and the view of the mountains were excellent for what I needed this stay. There is an urban trail within .2 miles, so runners and walkers can enjoy some miles along Cherry Creek and not have to cross a thousand streets. ||2. Every staff person I interacted with was friendly. The morning front desk staff especially. ||3. Chef AJ and his omelettes—I can’t say enough good things about him or them. He went out of his way to make sure everyone got what they ordered and his omelettes were out of this world! ||4. The food at Elements is better than one would expect from a hotel restaurant, but then again, there are a lot of choices, so it has to be elevated. ||5. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though the street noise can be a lot if there’s something going on at the Convention Center and you’re on that side. ||6. The complementary happy hour has a good selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. The food was a bit sparse, but it’s free! I like to eat dinner after I work out, so this little snack break helps curb my hunger till I eat later. ||Now the not-so-great:||1. My room lock needed a new battery, so I was locked out for a half hour on my second morning here. Engineering came to fix it, but they said this has happened before. On a floor with multiple vacant rooms, I shouldn’t have been placed in a room with a faulty lock. If I’d had an online meeting, I would have been very late. ||2. The Peloton in the gym is broken and has been throughout my stay. I’ve notified staff twice, and they said engineering is on it, but it’s still not working. To be fair, a lot of hotels have broken Pelotons, but for those of us who choose a hotel in part because of its gym, this is frustrating. ||3. My room was either too cold or too warm. I ended up just regulating the temp using blankets. Not a big deal—just uncomfortable.
Stayed for a quick overnight trip from Aspen.. since it is not too far from the airport. 1st time I have stayed at an embassy suites in almost 10 years. ||Was it great? Stayed in a premium suite, which quite frankly is overrated. Premium just means it cost more, on a higher floor, and has access to snacks and Keurig. The room was NOT stocked with snacks, so we got to pick out snacks from the downstairs shop. The room feels tight and practically feel abandoned on the floor. Was supposed to have premium guest WiFi for being premium; which we did not receive.||Customer service: everyone was very pleasant, front desk was responsive and helpful. Guest services kept getting routed to valet, but just technical problem .||Breakfast: convenience, a lot of options, and makes omelets made to order, plus it is FREE||Location: in the center of the city.. conveniently located and lots to do!||Valet is $52 overnight cost, which is crazy high! But, this may be the norm in Denver.||Overall: Honestly, for the price, I should have stayed at the Hyatt Regency across the street. I won’t stay again. I’m a WOH member, but decided to try embassy because I wanted a suite. Rooms need an update with modern furniture and to reflect a premium feel.
