This old and historic building has suffered greatly under the Marriott’s ownership. This was always such a gem for Denver and sadly and obviously is not at all cared for by the ownership or management. We dined at The Tavern and while the food and service were fine the lack of upkeep and poor maintenance really make it hard to enjoy. The attached picture reflects the lack of good management and any care at all about the facility. Marriott touts this as their Autograph Collection???? Really?? This is the lock in the Ladies restroom on the lobby level. Really sad!!

I booked a room and the spa for my husband's birthday last week for a little staycation. The room was subpar as it was a bit dirty, noisy, and the sheets had an odor to it. The spa was even worse. The people working there were lovely, but the services are extremely over priced and not worth it. The signature facial was not at all worth $270. The couples massage was even worse. There was nothing 'deep tissue' about it. My husband didn't feel any relaxation from his massage and neither did I. I thought it would be nice to go to the spa in the hotel, but I think next time I will stay elsewhere and go to a separate spa. The only positive feedback would be to the gentleman at the bar who served my husband a couple of drinks as he was extremely nice and went out of his way to find us snacks!
