A clean, friendly environment. Daily newspapers were a treat. The staff went out of their way to be cordial. The furnishing are showing age, wear/tear. Kitchen was neat and clean, but sparsely stocked. Parking is extremely tight and can be challenging. We were fortunate enough to be able to park our larger rental car in the same larger spot. Internet service was very marginal. We question advertising internet service that sparatic and slow.

The Edison Beach House charged me a $100 cancellation fee on a reservation even though I explained to them that the red tide which is active on Fort Myers beach will cause health issues to my daughter who has respiratory issues. The women who works at the hotel said "it looks ok" and when I asked her if anyone has been in the water she said "yeah I've seen a few people". The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website shows that red tide is active on Fort Myers beach currently and until the foreseeable future. I'm spoken to a medical professional who advised me not to take the trip. I'm sure the red tide issue will subside but I will definitely never stay in this hotel and I'll make sure everyone I know will hear about this.
