I went to book a motel in the area & most were sold out. I remembered the Sonesta, as my mother stayed in a one bedroom unit (it was the Candlewood back then) for 3 months 23 years ago while she was waiting for an apartment to be completed. It was a very positive experience for her. I was in luck, they did have a studio available. The staff was very friendly. The place has been total remodeled. It was clean, modern & comfortable. I ended up staying for a few more days as it made a perfect home base while exploring my old stomping grounds.

Room was fairly clean, could have been better. They only clean rooms every 7 days, we were only there 5 days. Toilet tank didn't want to refill after flushing, had to giggle the float. Tub drained slowly. Also they charge 5 dollars a day for parking, which seems unfair, since there really isn't any other place to park your vehicle. We liked the location and staff was friendly.
